Namibian Myrrh

The Himba tribe of Namibia have been harvesting Myrrh resin for many years, but have not had access to markets outside of their local territory. S&D Aroma is very proud to be associated with such a project, and we are now able to offer this excellent, high quality myrrh oil to the International market.


The incredible heat of Namibia, coupled with the acute shortage of water, challenges the Himba people. To overcome this they cover themselves in Ocre, which gives them this incredible red appearance and protects from the blazing sun. It is also a very hygienic alternative to water.
